BLANKETS FOR CANCER PATIENTS

Recently students from St. John the Evangelist Catholic School teamed-up with the St. Lucy’s Sewing Group to make blankets for cancer patients at Children’s Hospital in Denver.

Inspired by a current student at the school who is battling cancer, the Kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade classes organized blanket-making for their yearly class service project.

The blankets were made from fabric tied together and featured happy colorful patterns that will let the patients know that they are loved while keeping them warm during treatments.

Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and helped organize the service project and to all the parents, students, and parishioners who participated in making 45 blankets in one afternoon!
